Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is technology at a molecular level. It is found in a vast number of everyday items. In textiles it is mainly used for 'The Man in the White Suit' style coatings that resist dirt, but is also being developed to make new types of waterproof and breathable fibres.

However, while a lot of research is being carried out into the benefits, very little is being done on the causes for concern. And as a completely new type of technology, we have no real idea what these may be.
